Prayer from Luke 4:1-13

Heavenly Father, Your Son Jesus resisted temptation.  He didn't sin.  He conquered the devil.  He did what no single person on earth could ever do.

The desires of hunger and the flesh.  He said, "No."

I would've said, "Yes."

The sin of worshiping idols for the sake of power.  He said, "No."

I would've said, "Yes."

The sin of not trusting fully in You and in who You say we are.  He said, "No."

I would've said, "Yes."

Yet, I'm invited into a deep and rich relationship with Your Son.  You sent Him for such a purpose.  The One who resisted temptaion.  The One who did not sin.  The One who conquered the devil.  My 'yes' to a relationship with Jesus becomes my 'no' to sin.

Help me to choose You today.

Amen

Prayer from Revelation 1:4-8

Jesus, you are: the one who is, who always was,  and who is still to come. Jesus, you are: the faithful witness, the first to rise from the dead,  and ruler of all the kings of the world. Jesus, you are: the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins, You have made us a kingdom of priests for God. All glory and power to You forever. Amen

Prayer from 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

Now is the day of salvation - 2 Corinthians 6:2 Heavenly Father, Help me to see today as the day of salvation.  May my eyes be opened to even more of what You have done in the gift of salvation you've given me.   May I be thankful for it.   May I relish it.   May I celebrate it.   May I cherish it.   May I share it.   May I talk about it.   May it be on the forefront of my mind throughout today.   Amen
