Prayer from Luke 4:21-29

Father, help me to be a bridge builder for Your kingdom.  The old way is to put up fences that keep out and hinder Your grace.  May I have Your Spirit upon me.  May talk about the good news of the kingdom of God always be upon my lips.  May I help lead others to turn to You and find true freedom.  May I strive to bring others to Your table.  May I announce Your time of favor and blessing is here now! Amen

Prayer from Psalm 71

Father, thank you for all the wonderful things You do.  You've created a beautiful world for us to live in.  You've restored and redeemed us through Your Son.  You've given us reason to sing for joy.   Amen

Prayer from Psalm 19:1-4

Heavenly Father, the skies above my head announce Your glory.   The space above us all shouts, "I was made by God!" Every. Single. Day.  You speak through Your work. Every. Single. Night.  You show us insight.   Though we don't hear a sound, like a voice speaking, Everyone on this planet hears Your voice.   Amen

Prayer from Luke 5:37-39

Father, transform me into a new wineskin to receive the new things You are doing around me.  Don't let me stop being flexible and growing.  Allow me to have a curious mind and do a lot of listening.  May I remember You are God of the present and future just as much as You are the past.   Amen

Prayer from 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Father, there are many different personalities and gifts in Your church.  Thank you for the diversity in the body of Christ.  May I know where to best serve with the gifts You've given me and may I put them to work for Your kingdom.  May the church I pastor be able to do the same.  Lead and guide us Lord.  Amen

Prayer from Isaiah 62:1-5

I couldn't help but think of the chorus to the hymn A New Name in Glory as my prayer today.    There's a new name written down in glory, And it's mine, oh yes, it's mine! And the white-robed Angels sing the story, "A sinner has come home." For there's a new name written down in glory, And it's mine, oh yes, it's mine! With my sins forgiven I am bound for heaven,  Nevermore to roam. Amen Isaiah 62:2 - You will be called a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.

Prayer from Luke 3:15

Father, help me to look for You with expectation I'll find You, while at the same time realizing You may come to me in ways I don't expect.   Amen Luke 3:15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah.

Prayer from Psalm 29

Heavenly Father, Thank you for speaking into our world. Thank you for Your voice of power and change.  Thank you for the words You share with us to make us aware of Your reality.   Break through with Your voice today, Lord. Amen
